Teaching

I teach saxophone to students of all ages and levels.

I want to ensure that all students' interests are provided for, whether it is a jazz, classical, or pop style, and to develop all musical skills through the student's interests and styles. I believe a strong technique is fundamental to my teaching as that opens the door for each pupil to further development. Improvisation is also a big focus in my lessons, with special attention given to harmonic, melodic, and rhythmic.

Teaching Style

Hi, my name is Bárbara, and I started playing the guitar when I was 8 years old.

I am a classical guitarist, but over the years I have learned to experiment with other styles and genres such as pop, rock and improvisation. I am excited to show you just how much fun playing can be! I am currently completing an undergraduate degree at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.

I have performed as a soloist and in chamber and ensemble situations, which were exciting and rewarding experiences for me. I love the guitar because it's such a satisfying instrument to play! It fits into any genre of music or as part of a group or just as a solo instrument. It has a beautiful sound and is a lot of fun to play and to learn.

You can experiment with it a lot and you can also use it to accompany other instruments or singers, or even yourself!

About

I enjoy teaching pupils of all ages and particularly helping beginners to start playing the guitar.

I tailor all my tuition according to your preferences and at a comfortable learning pace to suit you. You can learn to play well-known themes and melodies or some of your favourite band’s songs or just get you started in the right direction. It’s up to you. Teaching Style

I enjoy teaching piano to all ages and always seek to improve each student's musicality.

I believe that the ability to read a score at first sight, good focus and concentration and pianistic techniques are the essential skills to be developed and achieved.

For all my students I’m looking to find the right musical material to gradually help them to reach their best musical development.

For children, I try to capture their attention with fun and enthusiasm by creating a musical place in the world of children's imagination. I really enjoy preparing my pupils for ABRSM as it is always gratifying to send a student off for an exam after a good job was done in their piano lessons.

About

I teach piano and keyboard, classical piano and ABRSM and TRINITY exam preparation.

I enjoy teaching students of all levels and ages as well as various musical styles. Having dedicated many years learning to play the piano I am very excited to share my knowledge and experiences with my students. I believe that learning to play the piano has many benefits and I am very excited to discover more as I continue to teach and to play.

As a teacher, one of my main goals is to cultivate my students' passion and love for music. Whether they want to follow this as a career or as a hobby I will support them to achieve all of their aspirations and goals during our lessons together.

I always try to adapt the lesson to each student's needs and to their personal aspirations. I enjoy preparing pupils for ABRSM or Trinity practical and theory exams from grades 1 to 8. Besides my experience in piano playing I also understand music theory and can train my pupils in the required repertoire, piano techniques, sight reading and aural and theory skills. In our lessons together I often introduce other related music subjects such as keyboard technique, history of music, ear training, music theory, harmony, counterpoint, analysis of music, ensemble performance and piano accompaniment. Petra Hajduchova

About

Hi, I’m Petra and I play all sorts of keyboards such as piano, harpsichord or even a church organ.

I have been teaching piano and harpsichord for over a decade and it’s been a fun and rewarding experience for me. I am sure it has been the same for many of my pupils too.

I completed my studies at Trinity College of Music, London and was awarded a TCM Scholarship, the Raymond Russell Prize and as well the June Emerson Wind Music Launch/pad Prize for Flute-Harpsichord duo.

Besides performing live and recording I have also broadcast live on BBC Radio 3, and recently I recorded with, The Harmonious Society of Tickle-Fiddle Gentlemen disc of Moravian Baroque composer Gottfried Finger.

Teaching

My methods are simple; I develop the ability, talent and interests of each of my pupils.

I will work with you, to get you using the right piano techniques and to enjoy your learning. I’m a big supporter of each pupil’s own self-realisation and I encourage you to think about what you are learning and how you are learning it. Therefore, I encourage pupils to express their own ideas, their individual approach to learning, repertoire and performance attitude. I pay close attention to good posture while playing an instrument, as well as an understanding of music theory.

Also, I provide interesting anecdotes and facts about the composers and the background and history of each piece studied. So, besides learning to play well you will also become familiar with the landscape of music.

My pupils’ ages range from 5 year old and retirees. I like to teach classical style, reading notes and counting rhythm but I’m also very flexible in terms of repertoire such as pop, rock music and light jazz, understanding harmony or chords and how to memorise songs.

EVA RABAINE KOHLER

About

I graduated as a kindergarten teacher at University of Debrecen in Hungary in 2005. I’ve written my thesis about the Kodaly philosophy and teaching method.

I moved to England in 2006 then I completed my Qualified Teacher Status. During the time went by, I completed the Introduction to Colourstrings Music Kindergarten Teacher Training and the British Kodaly Academy Foundation Course.

Teaching

The joy of singing and music has been my constant companion since my childhood.

For many years I attended Music School and learnt solfege and played the piano. Then in my university years I learnt to play on recorder. I’m gladly using both instruments in my classes to introduce them to the children.

I love making music, singing with children, creating resources that help them achieve music literacy and also seeing the joy that they experience through singing.

My classes are playful, fun and full of energy while also being methodically planned and executed.

I would like children and adults alike to experience the happiness that comes from singing together.
